Job summary

BBA Consultants is seeking a project manager with 10–15 years of geotechnical experience to lead multidisciplinary projects across Canada and, on occasion, internationally. The role focuses on tailings storage facilities, waste rock storage, and water management infrastructure, ensuring on-time delivery within budgets and safety standards.

You will coordinate teams, manage scope and risks, review technical studies, and maintain client relationships.

Qualifications

• From 10 to 15 years of geotechnical project management experience
• Experience managing tailings storage facilities or related mining infrastructure
• Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary projects (cost, schedule, scope, risk, quality)
• Strong knowledge of tailings design, construction, operation, monitoring and closure
• Fluent in English; advanced French for collaboration with Québec offices
• PMP certification is an asset
• Bachelor degree in business administration or civil/geological/mining engineering is an asset

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and deliver multidisciplinary projects involving tailings facilities, waste rock storage and water management infrastructure
• Define and deliver project scope, schedules, budgets and resource requirements
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, partners, subcontractors and stakeholders
• Monitor progress, costs, risks, changes and deliverable quality
• Review geotechnical studies, stability analyses, water management plans and site investigations
• Ensure regulatory compliance and industry best practices for tailings facilities
• Lead project meetings and prepare progress reports for clients
• Identify and mitigate technical and contractual issues and support decision-making
• Assist in proposals and client development and build long-term relationships
• Mentor junior staff and promote project management best practices
