Job summary

The Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) invites applications for a Senior Geomodeller within the Alberta Geological Survey. The role focuses on advanced geomodelling to support regulatory decisions, subsurface interpretation, and modern geoscience initiatives.

You will collaborate across disciplines, mentor AGS staff, and contribute to 3D, AI-enabled subsurface intelligence capabilities while engaging with stakeholders and regulatory partners.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in the energy industry with geomodelling or related experience.
• Experience integrating geological, geophysical, and spatial data.
• Ability to mentor staff and communicate complex concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop geological and geomodelling solutions for disposal, reservoir performance, and regulatory priorities.
• Create regional and field-scale models to support basin management.
• Provide senior technical reviews and ensure model governance.
• Collaborate with geologists, data scientists, and IT partners.
• Advance integration between geomodelling, geospatial data, and enterprise systems.
