Job summary

ITASCA North America is seeking a Principal Geomechanics Engineer to provide technical leadership, grow client relationships, mentor engineers, and help expand our geomechanics consulting practice in Canada and across North America.

This role targets a senior technical leader with strong judgment, capable of guiding complex work and supporting high-quality project delivery for mining clients.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree or equivalent professional experience in mining/geomechanics or related field.
• Minimum 15 years in mining geomechanics or closely related geotechnical consulting.
• Professional Engineer designation (P.Eng./PE or equivalent).
• Experience guiding complex technical work and mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical leadership on mining geomechanics projects.
• Lead studies on slope/underground stability, ground control, and mine planning.
• Review analyses and modeling approaches; mentor engineers and support business development.
• Develop client relationships and help shape growth of ITASCA North America.
