Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Geochemist to lead geochemical and water quality components for mining projects. The role supports baseline characterization, environmental assessments, models and monitoring programs. Travel to field sites and collaboration with engineers are essential.

Ideal candidates have a strong mine waste geochemistry background, 10+ years’ consulting experience, and professional registration. Relocation assistance may be available and multiple Canadian locations are considered.

Qualifications

• Minimum a B.Sc. in Geochemistry, Hydrology, Hydrogeology, or Earth Sciences/Engineering with focus in geochemistry
• 10+ years of consulting experience in mining, including mine waste geochemistry and water quality modelling
• Professional registration or eligibility (P.Geo. or P.Eng.) and valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Perform geochemical and water quality tasks for projects
• Lead field crews and supervise multi-discipline teams
• Provide data analysis, QA/QC, and technical reports
• Support project task management: budgets and schedules
• Advise engineers on mine/project planning and mitigation strategies
• Contribute to business development and proposal tasks
