Job summary

Epic Games is seeking a full-time Tester to join the Release QA team. You will run tests and support release and live operations for Epic products, collaborating with Release Management and Product teams to ensure smooth delivery.

The Senior Tester will help oversee test teams and align testing with project goals in a fast-paced, dynamic space. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of QA/testing experience in games or software, familiarity with game engines like Unreal/Unity, and strong bug-tracking

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in QA/Testing at games or software.
• Experience with gaming consoles and/or mobile devices
• Experience with software development and building games or software
• Familiarity with the software development life cycle and the role of testing within it
• Proficient in logging defects in bug-tracking systems like Jira
• Experience testing software within a structured QA team
• Experience with game engines such as Unreal, Unity, etc
• Experience in creating and executing creative test scenarios independently, utilizing product knowledge and available feature documentation

Responsibilities

• Execute and develop detailed test cases to ensure the quality of multiple products while balancing speed and coverage
• Create/Maintain/Own comprehensive test cases based on predefined test scenarios
• Investigate and analyze issues to identify root causes, and communicate or escape issues when necessary, keeping the broader context in mind
• Provide the development team with reports on blocking issues, test results, and overall quality status while facilitating discussions around potential risk areas
• Write clear and concise bug reports with detailed reproduction steps
• Leverage knowledge of product features to identify issues and inefficiencies
• Independently set your daily priorities while also assisting with the team's priorities
• Support ongoing operations in the live environment through rotating on-call shifts in addition to normal working hours
