Job summary

Image Engine is seeking a Senior FX TD based in Vancouver, BC. You will mentor junior artists and deliver high-quality FX across shows, applying notes from FX Supervisors and Leads. Strong Houdini proficiency, shader creation, and collaboration with other departments are essential to maintain production quality.

The role involves developing studio-wide FX tools, maintaining pipelines, and ensuring timely delivery within a 3-month project window. Eligibility to work in Canada is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of feature film/TV production experience as an FX artist in Houdini.

Responsibilities

• Create multiple types of realistic FX (rigid body, particles, fluids, cloth) under supervision using the studio pipeline.
• Develop and maintain FX tools, setups and best practices for the studio.
• Create shaders, render passes, beauty renders, and FX comps.
• Estimate task time and communicate issues to lead/show production coordinator to meet schedule.
• Mentor junior artists and provide notes/solutions to aesthetic issues.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth workflow and data exchange.
