Job summary

Port Cares is seeking a Fundraising Manager to lead and oversee all fundraising strategies, grant proposals, and events for the organization. This on-site leadership role collaborates with management and the Outreach Committee to design comprehensive plans and budgets aligned with Port Cares' strategic goals.

The ideal candidate will be a relationship-builder, skilled in cultivating donors, foundations, and corporate sponsors, with marketing experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of marketing and fundraising experience.
• Post-secondary education in fundraising, marketing and public relations.
• CFRE designation is an asset.
• Proficient in using fundraising software such as DonorPerfect.
• Deep knowledge of donor stewardship best practices and fundraising ethics.
• Strong written and reading skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with donors and community leaders.
• Flexible schedule to attend/host events and meetings.
• Experience with Adobe Acrobat, Canva and MS Suite is an asset.
• Own transportation and valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Implement and build on fundraising plans that support long-term objectives.
• Oversee annual fundraising initiatives including events, raffles, direct mail and major gifts.
• Coordinate grant applications and funding proposals with the ED.
• Align revenue goals with budgets and track grant funding and reporting.
• Oversee the social media and communications specialist.
• Uphold donor recognition standards and fundraising policies.
• Maintain donor stewardship and long-term engagement.
• Serve as a senior leadership team member.
• Present fundraising updates and performance metrics to the ED.
• Collaborate with local, provincial and federal partners to identify fundraising opportunities.
• Lead agency tours, presentations and outreach to raise community support.
