Job summary

Citco is seeking a skilled Fund Accountant to join our Fund of Fund team in Toronto. You will prepare NAVs for Private Equity Funds, manage financial statements, trial balances, and partner allocations, while ensuring strict control and accuracy across cash, portfolios, and reconciliations.

You will lead, coordinate with teams globally, and support external audits, capital events, and investor reporting. A degree in accounting/finance or a recognized designation is required, with 3-5 years of PE

Qualifications

• 3 - 5 years of fund accounting experience in Private Equity or related financial institution.
• Experience in reviewing and preparing general ledgers and financial statements
• Strong leadership skills and supervisory experience
• Project management skills with attention to detail and multi-tasking
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) and accounting software knowledge

Responsibilities

• Prepare periodical Net Asset Value calculations for Private Equity Funds, including Financial Statement preparation, trial balance review, and Partner/Shareholder allocations.
• Execute financial controls covering assets, liabilities, income, expenses and equity.
• Independently complete cash, portfolio, and capital reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare and reconcile income and expense accruals, including admin and management fees and carried interest.
• Prepare capital events for Private Equity Funds and Investor Capital Account Statements.
• Monitor client service level agreements and ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.
• Coordinate with internal/external parties to meet client needs.
• Provide technical accounting knowledge on Private Equity Fund types and mechanics to clients as needed.
• Coordinate with Investor Relations, Tax, Financial Reporting, and other Citco groups globally.
• Assist external audits and review client fund documents.
• Review partnership agreements and materials; implement efficiency initiatives; generate ad hoc reports.
