Job summary

Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) is seeking a Senior Functional Analyst to drive functional analysis across the Enspire platform as part of the REM program. You will partner with business stakeholders, product teams, vendors, and tech resources to implement and enhance mission-critical market systems in a hybrid work setting.

You will lead requirements, manage backlogs, support SIT/UAT and cutover activities, and ensure solutions align with evolving business needs while delivering

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in business analysis, functional analysis, or a related role.
• Experience in the electric utility industry is an asset.
• Experience as a Scrum Master and working within Agile product teams.
• Strong technical acumen with APIs, data models, system integrations, and cloud-based apps.
• Proven experience leading large-scale system implementations and end-to-end delivery.
• Experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies and product lifecycle support.

Responsibilities

• Lead stakeholder workshops to gather, document, and validate business requirements and ESS functionality scope.
• Translate business needs into functional requirements and serve as liaison between business and technical teams.
• Facilitate Scrum Master activities and manage product backlogs to support delivery.
• Develop end-to-end process diagrams to support ESS solution design and implementation.
• Identify gaps, risks, and opportunities for enhancement and efficiency.
• Collaborate with QA, technical teams, and change management for design, testing, and implementation.
• Review vendor design documentation for alignment with requirements.
• Support SIT/UAT, issue triage, root cause analysis, and cutover planning.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation and delivery artifacts.
• Analyze data to identify KPIs and business insights for decision making.
