Overview
Our Insurance Client's Enterprise Digital Strategy and Delivery team is seeking a hands‑on Technical Lead to build enterprise digital products across front‑end applications, backend services, integrations and AI‑enabled features. This role will establish reusable engineering capabilities, cloud infrastructure, delivery pipelines and automated quality controls while remaining directly involved in coding and production troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test and deploy end‑to‑end solutions using TypeScript, React, Next.js, Java and Spring Boot, including APIs, event‑driven services and supporting data stores.
- Build reusable UI components, design‑system patterns and orchestration services that connect content, customer context, data and actions into personalized digital journeys.
- Implement REST and GraphQL integrations, APIs through Apigee, and event‑driven integration using Kafka or comparable platforms.
- Establish cloud infrastructure, container environments, Terraform configurations and CI/CD pipelines, working with enterprise platform teams on shared services and controls.
- Develop AI‑enabled and agentic features using retrieval/RAG, prompt engineering, structured outputs, MCP‑based tool integration and agent interactions, with evaluation, guardrails, human oversight and production monitoring.
- Embed automated unit, component, contract, API, integration, end‑to‑end, accessibility, performance and security testing into delivery pipelines.
- Apply approved AI engineering tools to development, refactoring, testing, debugging and documentation while maintaining human review and secure‑development controls.
- Define engineering standards, lead design and code reviews, document designs using UML, and work with Solution Architects on build, buy and reuse decisions.
- Instrument applications and services, troubleshoot issues across the stack, and improve production reliability, performance and operational readiness.
Must‑Have Requirements
- 8+ years building and operating complex enterprise digital products, including experience as a Technical Lead, Staff Engineer or senior full‑stack developer, with recent hands‑on delivery across both front‑end and backend layers.
- Strong TypeScript, React and Next.js experience covering component architecture, state management, server‑side rendering, accessibility, responsive design and front‑end performance.
- Strong Java and Spring Boot experience covering REST APIs, microservices, asynchronous processing, data access, automated testing and production troubleshooting.
- Experience designing and integrating REST, GraphQL and event‑driven services, including API contracts, authentication, resiliency and graceful failure handling.
- Hands‑on implementation of cloud infrastructure, containers, Terraform, source‑control workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong test‑driven development and quality automation experience across functional, integration and non‑functional testing, with automated quality gates.
- Practical use of AI‑assisted engineering tools, such as Claude Code or GitHub Copilot, within approved security and code‑review controls.
- Hands‑on delivery of AI/ML‑enabled product features, including retrieval/RAG, prompts, structured outputs, tool integration, evaluation, guardrails and production monitoring, with agent frameworks such as LangGraph, CrewAI or Microsoft Agent Framework.
- Experience building reusable platform capabilities or modernizing fragmented applications, including shared components, service templates and integration patterns.
- Enterprise integration experience spanning API gateways, Kafka or comparable event platforms, headless content, personalization, feature flags, experimentation, analytics, caching, and relational or document databases.
- Ability to implement CIAM using Okta Auth0, entitlements, consent, privacy, security and audit controls within end‑to‑end solutions.
- Strong observability practices using logs, metrics, distributed tracing and alerting, with OpenTelemetry, Azure Monitor/Application Insights or comparable tooling.
- Working knowledge of secure software supply chains, dependency management, secrets management and controls for AI‑assisted development.
Nice‑to‑Have Requirements
- Kubernetes and AWS experience.
- Microsoft Azure experience.
