Job summary

Intact Financial Corporation is seeking a Senior Generalist Software Developer – Full Stack Java/Angular to join our growing team in a hybrid work environment. You will be involved in every stage of the project, from understanding business needs to delivering robust solutions.

You will provide technical direction, make recommendations, and support the team in technical decision-making while writing tests and ensuring code quality.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
• Eight+ years of significant software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java.
• Extensive experience with Angular is an asset.
• Cloud infrastructure experience, ideally AWS, plus containers, Terraform, CI/CD, and observability.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to translate business problems into technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Analyze systems and programming requirements and propose solutions.
• Develop system specifications, code, modify, test, and debug programs.
• Understand system functionality to explain it to colleagues and users.
• Translate requirements into technical specifications and software components.
• Design and model solutions to meet functional and non-functional requirements.
• Review designs for code and design quality and contribute to project deliverables.
• Write unit and integration tests and participate in regression-testing strategies.
• Provide Level 1 application support and maintenance and resolve defects.
• Work independently and support the project team to ensure timelines.
