Scribd, Inc. is hiring a Senior Frontend Engineer to drive our Web Modernization program, building the frontend foundations for our next generation experiences.

You will migrate complex legacy apps into a modern Microfrontend ecosystem, creating reusable patterns and shared foundations for multiple teams. This hands-on role ships production frontend code, defines architecture patterns, and partners across product and platform teams to ensure performance and developer experience remain high

Qualifications

• 6+ years of frontend software engineering experience.
• Deep experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and React.
• Hands-on experience with Next.js or similar modern web frameworks.
• Familiarity with Microfrontend architectures, monorepos, or shared frontend platforms.
• Strong understanding of web performance, bundling, and optimization techniques.
• Experience collaborating with backend and platform teams to define clean integration patterns.

Responsibilities

• Lead modernization workstreams migrating legacy apps to a Microfrontend ecosystem.
• Ship production-ready frontend code and define reusable patterns.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and backend teams to deliver end-to-end features.
• Build features enabling publishers to upload documents and readers to consume them.
