Senior Frontend Developer

As a Senior Frontend Developer, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and delivering modern digital experiences that support Moneris' next generation of products and services.

Working as a key contributor within a cross-functional Agile Scrum team, you will help shape the architecture, development, and delivery of a new Moneris product. You will leverage modern web and mobile technologies to build secure, scalable, and highly available applications while promoting engineering excellence, test automation, and continuous improvement.

This role is ideal for a developer who is passionate about building high‑quality software, embraces collaboration, and thrives in a fast‑paced environment focused on delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Location: You will be based in our Toronto office, balancing in‑office collaboration with remote flexibility.

Reporting Relationship: You will report to the Manager, Software Development and Architecture.

Posting Type: Replacement Position

Salary Range: The expected base salary range for this role is $100,000 - $142,000.

Total compensation may also include variable or discretionary incentive components, including but not limited to bonuses and commissions. Individual job offers are determined by various factors, including experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.

Your Moneris Career – What You'll Do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain high‑quality web and mobile applications using React, React Native, and TypeScript.
• Deliver secure, scalable, and highly available solutions that support business and customer needs.
• Contribute to technical design discussions and solution architecture decisions.
• Champion engineering best practices, including Shift Left testing, secure coding, code quality, and continuous improvement.
• Develop and maintain automated tests across unit, API, and user interface layers.
• Maintain strong test coverage and ensure application quality through validation and automation strategies.
• Leverage GitHub and GitHub Actions to support source control, CI/CD, and software delivery processes.
• Collaborate closely with Product, UX, Architecture, and Engineering teams to deliver innovative digital solutions.
• Participate in Agile planning, estimation, code reviews, and sprint ceremonies.
• Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high‑performing team environment.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, software development practices, and AI‑driven development capabilities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent experience will be considered.
• Proven experience developing modern web applications using React and TypeScript.
• Experience developing cross‑platform mobile applications using React Native.
• Experience designing, architecting, and delivering secure, scalable, and highly available software solutions.
• Experience using GitHub, Git workflows, and GitHub Actions.
• Experience developing automated tests, including unit, API, and UI testing.
• Strong understanding of modern front‑end development practices, software design principles, and application architecture.
• Experience working within Agile Scrum teams.
• Strong communication, collaboration, accountability, and problem‑solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with native mobile development using Kotlin and/or Swift.
• Experience developing Android applications.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Experience building customer‑facing digital products in enterprise environments.
• Experience applying performance optimization and security best practices within front‑end applications.
• Demonstrated passion for continuous learning and adoption of emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence.
