Job summary

Ciena Corporation in Ottawa is seeking a Senior FPGA Verification Engineer to lead chip-level verification for FPGA designs and shape test plans and coverage targets across projects.

You will create verification plans, run test cases, triage regressions, and collaborate with design teams to improve methodologies while mentoring junior engineers and maintaining high standards of quality.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years of FPGA/ASIC verification experience.
• Experience developing testbench environments using SystemVerilog and UVM.
• Experience with directed and constrained-random stimulus generation.
• Problem solving and debugging skills.
• Application of standard interfaces including PCIe, I2C, and SPI.
• Working knowledge of PC and Unix/Linux operating systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and team skills.
• Highly motivated and creative.
• Well organized, thorough, and detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Lead chip-level verification activities for FPGA designs.
• Establish verification methodology, architecture, and infrastructure, including models, generators, monitors, and scoreboards.
• Work with the design team to establish test priorities and coverage targets.
• Create verification plans.
• Create and execute test cases.
