Job summary

Alumax Panel Inc. is seeking a driven architectural estimator to join our head-office in Aurora, Ontario.

You will estimate and take off projects involving metal cladding systems for commercial and large residential builds, working with the project management team, architects, builders, developers and owners to deliver accurate cost breakdowns. The role requires a college or university degree in architecture, architectural technologies or construction management, at least two years of estimator

Qualifications

• A college or university degree in architecture, architectural technologies, construction management, or similar.
• At least two years of experience as an architectural estimator.
• At least one year of experience in façade and cladding design.
• Knowledge of building envelope and rain screen systems.
• Experience with Planswift/AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings and specs to determine project scope.
• Determine sheets and materials, plus waste percentages.
• Prepare estimates for cladding requirements on new and retrofit projects.
• Draft 2D/3D basic building systems and mark-up drawings.
• Communicate with clients regarding RFIs and addenda.
• Follow up on quotes and approvals with clients.
