Job summary

PRI Engineering is seeking a Senior Forest Inventory Specialist to lead and mentor in forestry inventory programs. You will direct aerial photo interpretation, mapping, and field operations, working with GIS and remote sensing teams across multiple jurisdictions.

A strong leadership track record and registration as an RPF or RFT are required. Travel to remote field sites is expected; you will shape inventory programs and contribute to client relationships and business development.

Qualifications

Significant proven experience (typically 8+ years) in aerial photo interpretation and forest inventory mapping.
Certification or recognized training in forest inventory interpretation from BC or equivalent jurisdictions.
Extensive experience with timber cruising, growth & yield, and forest measurement programs; CMI/NFI certification is a plus.
Registration as a Registered Professional Forester (RPF) or Registered Forest Technologist (RFT).
Demonstrated track record leading projects and mentoring staff; able to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

Lead forest inventory mapping using aerial photography, stereo imagery, and remote sensing.
Oversee field crews collecting forest inventory data; ensure data quality.
Design inventory programs, sampling plans, and reporting; manage schedules and budgets.
Collaborate with GIS, remote sensing, and spatial analysis specialists.
Support proposals, client relationships, and business development where applicable.
