Job summary

J.S. Held is seeking a Senior Architectural Technologist to lead technical design, drafting, and QA for restoration projects across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors following catastrophes, failures, or damage.

You will mentor technicians and collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure quality and code compliance. This hybrid role requires on-site Burlington office visits and site work, with a focus on delivering permit-ready drawings and maintaining

Qualifications

7–10 years of progressive experience in structural drafting or restoration design.
Experience with wood-frame construction and building envelope repair.
Strong knowledge of the Ontario Building Code (Part 9 and renovations).
Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM platforms.
Ability to work both independently and within a team with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Obtain site measurements and prepare rough sketches on site.
Develop structural design and drafting for restoration using Revit.
Ensure compliance with codes and company standards; review drawings for quality.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and manage time to meet deadlines.
Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance as needed.
