Job summary

Husky Technologies is seeking a Mechanical Designer (Fluidpower) to join our Bolton, Ontario team. You will develop fluidpower concepts and system-level designs within a formal product development process, and lead design reviews while mentoring teammates.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 10+ years of design experience, with strong knowledge of hydraulic/pneumatic systems and industry standards. Competitive compensation and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• 10+ years of design experience in a related industry.
• Specialized knowledge of product, market and customer requirements.
• Expertise in hydraulic standards, specifications, and compliance requirements.
• Skilled in fluid mechanics simulation and data analysis.
• Advanced knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and cooling water systems.
• Strong time management and organizational skills for efficiency.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong communication.
• Advanced leadership and team mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Work in a team of engineers/design specialists on new products through full development.
• Develop fluidpower concepts and system-level designs with limited guidance.
• Participate in business case formulation and evaluation.
• Act as product architect and lead design reviews.
• Develop comprehensive design documentation and validation plans.
• Contribute to and verify engineering documentation and processes.
• Size and select hydraulic/pneumatic components and materials.
• Provide leadership, mentoring and training to team members.
• Represent Husky technically to customers, suppliers and partners.
• Drive continuous improvement and risk mitigation (FMEA).
• Collaborate across disciplines for optimal product definition.
