Job summary

MacLean Engineering in Collingwood, Ontario, is seeking an Intermediate to Senior Fluid Power / Hydraulic Designer to join our product engineering team. This full-time role offers exposure to hydraulic, pneumatic, and water systems for mobile mining equipment and opportunities to contribute to multiple subsystems including frames, cabs, and powertrains.

The successful candidate will design, analyze, and optimize systems while collaborating with production and other engineering disciplines.

Qualifications

• Engineering diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.
• 5+ years of experience in fluid power.
• Eligibility for licensing through OACETT or PEO is preferred.
• Experience in design/manufacturing of heavy/mobile/construction equipment is a plus.
• Able to use SolidWorks and AutoCAD; certified training is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out the design and selection of components and integrate into the larger system.
• Detail designs using drafting techniques into BOMs, fabrication/assembly, and inspection/testing details.
• Support designs with production teams during builds and update via ECNs.
• Communicate with Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Customer Support.
