Job summary

Syntronic is seeking a Senior Flight Software Developer to design, implement, and test safety-critical, real-time embedded software for advanced robotic and aerospace systems. You will own challenging subsystem designs, contribute hands-on development, and guide junior developers.

The role requires a strong background in C++, VxWorks, and SoC platforms, with experience in automated testing and software verification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Development, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Strong hands-on C++ in embedded environments.
• Minimum 5 years with VxWorks.
• Experience in safety-critical, real-time software systems.
• Experience with SoC platforms.
• Strong automated testing & verification experience.
• Real-time concepts, concurrency, timing constraints, and embedded design.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of safety-critical, real-time embedded software for complex robotic and aerospace systems.
• Develop, maintain, test modular and efficient flight software.
• Document designs, decisions, interfaces, and approaches.
• Lead and participate in implementation and verification of embedded subsystems.
• Review designs, code, tests, and technical work by team members.
• Mentor junior and intermediate developers through reviews and discussions.
• Lead effort estimation and technical planning for new work.
• Collaborate to define coding standards, tools, and processes.
• Support automated testing, integration, debugging, and lifecycle activities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of software quality and reliability.
