Job summary

Syntronic is seeking a Senior C++ Systems Software Designer to design, develop, and optimize high-performance C++ software for real-time, high-bandwidth data processing. You will architect and implement systems that transport and manipulate 12 to 25 Gbps data streams, across Linux/RTOS platforms on ARM/x86.

Responsibilities include IPC design, zero-copy data paths, performance optimization, multi-threading, and integration of third-party SDKs.

Qualifications

• Solid professional experience in production C++ software development.
• Strong understanding of C++ software architecture, OO design, memory management and resource ownership.
• Experience with C++11/14 or later, with ability to adopt newer standards.
• Strong systems-programming experience on Linux and/or RTOS.
• Practical experience with multithreading, concurrency, synchronization, IPC, shared memory, and high-performance data pipelines.
• Experience designing systems where throughput, latency and deterministic behaviour are important.
• Experience integrating vendor or third-party SDKs/APIs.
• Experience developing for ARM and/or x86 architectures.
• Ability to analyze performance limits across software and hardware boundaries.
• Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills in English and French.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimize high-performance C++ software components for real-time, high-bandwidth applications.
• Architect software to transport and process 12 to 25 Gbps-class data streams.
• Develop Linux and RTOS applications on ARM/x86 platforms.
• Design efficient IPC and data-sharing mechanisms (shared memory, mmap, producer/consumer, ring buffers, queues, synchronization).
• Implement zero-copy or reduced-copy data paths where appropriate.
• Optimize memory bandwidth, CPU utilization, thread scheduling, cache behavior, latency and throughput.
• Design multithreaded and asynchronous software capable of sustaining continuous high-speed traffic.
• Integrate third-party SDKs, libraries, drivers and hardware APIs.
• Create clean abstractions between applications, OS services and hardware.
• Debug complex issues across applications, OS, networking, memory and hardware interfaces.
• Profile and benchmark software to identify throughput and latency bottlenecks.
• Participate in architecture, design and code reviews and produce maintainable, testable C++ code.
• Contribute to architectures evolving toward virtualization and cloud-ready environments.
