A leading company in defense solutions is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst for their Ottawa office. The role involves providing financial support across various business units, aiding audits, and conducting variance analyses. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, extensive experience with ERP systems, and excellent analytical and communication skills, all essential for driving financial success in the organization.
The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for providing financial analysis, support and control to 3 business units (Data Solutions, Mission Solutions and MSS) within Curtiss-Wright Controls Defense Solutions.

Aid in various internal / external audits including Sarbanes-Oxley self-assessment.
Ongoing communication and variance analysis for Business Unit Cost Centre Managers.
Assist with budgeting and forecasting on an as needed basis.
Assist with month-end close tasks including but not limited to journal entries preparation.
Prepare bids and buck sheets for total C5ISR group.
Prepare weekly revenue summary sheet for 3 business units (Data Solutions, Mission Solutions and MSS).
Ensure all corporate submissions are completed on time; e.g. tax packages, supplemental etc.
Ad Hoc Reporting and Analysis.
Aid in process improvement projects as required.
General accounting and finance tasks as required.
Monthly / quarterly general ledger account reconciliations.
Backup and support for other members of the finance team.
What you Bring :
A post secondary diploma / degree from a college or university in Accounting and or Business
Professional Accounting Designation or MBA preferred.
4-6 years of related experience preferably in a manufacturing or high technology environment.
Thorough understanding of general accounting principles and practices.
Must have superior Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills.
Excellent communication skills (oral and written); with the ability to present relevant reports to senior management.
Able to work effectively as part of a team, ability to work with cross-functional teams and to train staff to follow procedures and use system tools.
Excellent analytical skills to collect data, understand significance, explain issues, recommend solutions, and to take initiative.
Excellent technical ability, including ability to work with integrated ERP systems, preferably SAP expertise.
Ability to embrace change with enthusiasm for continuous improvement.
