Sofina Foods Inc. in Markham, Ontario is seeking a Financial Analyst to compile, consolidate, analyze and present statutory and management financial results for Canadian operations and Global results to Senior Management.

The role supports controllership at the Markham Head Office, partnering with functional departments to review spending, record journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations. Key duties include monthly close, consolidation for Canada/Europe, and external audit support.

Qualifications

Relevant post-secondary education in Finance.
Must have a completed CPA or CMA, CGA, CA designation.
Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a financial analyst role.
Experience with an ERP system and strong computer skills including advanced excel skills and spreadsheet modelling, and PowerBI experience.
Experience with Accounting Standard for Private Entities, and International Financial Reporting Standards.

Responsibilities

Consolidation of monthly and annual statutory financial results for Sofina divisions and Europe operations, plus exec materials.
Prepare and consolidate treasury reporting, bank covenants, compliance certificates, and bank model updates.
Close and reporting for Markham Head Office; distribute management reports and explain variances.
Draft consolidated financial statements and Notes to Financial Statements.
Coordinate with divisions and acquisitions to align financial reporting and master data/chart of accounts.
Prepare schedules for income tax returns and audits.
