Join to apply for the Senior Financial Analyst role at GFL Environmental Inc.

Working capital is at the forefront of everything we do! We are looking for a dynamic, detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst who will lead the monthly forecasting and annual budget process for the Treasury team, including models for working capital, debt, and balance sheet analysis. These are critical for decision making. The ideal candidate understands the importance of the balance sheet (not just the P&L) and is an expert with balance sheet KPIs such as DSO & DPO.

The role requires the ability to work independently under tight deadlines, with meticulous attention to detail, and to produce accurate, high-quality financial analysis for C-level decision support.

Key Functions:

1. Lead the monthly forecasting and annual budget process for the Treasury and Shared Services working capital model.
2. Collaborate with internal finance partners including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, FP&A, Controllership, and Treasury to gather key model inputs for alignment.
3. Prepare and improve the monthly Treasury reporting package, comparing actual results against forecast and budget. Provide variance analysis and commentary to explain performance differences and suggest improvements. Develop strong business partnerships to align financial model expectations with actual results.
4. Update and create reconciliation schedules supporting forecasting trends for working capital.
5. Perform other ad-hoc duties as required.

Requirements:

1. Must have a Treasury or FP&A background, CPA designation (or actively pursuing/near completion).
2. 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
3. Strong problem-solving skills.
4. Proactive, with the ability to drive complex analysis to completion.
5. Ability to work with complex data sets, understand systems and data processing.
6. Capable of managing deliverables efficiently in high-pressure environments.
7. Attention to detail, multitasking, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced setting.
8. Team-oriented with colleagues across departments.
9. Experience with Great Plains, Cognos, and Workday is an asset.
10. Flexibility to work additional hours as needed.
