Job summary

Rogers Communications, Inc. in Toronto seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to drive financial reporting across Telecom segments and support regulatory submissions. You will contribute to month‑end close, variance analyses, and the preparation of regulatory filings with accuracy and timeliness.

You will partner with Tax, M&A, Legal, and Regulatory teams, ensure internal controls, and assist external auditors, with a focus on delivering high‑quality information to senior management.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial analysis.
• CPA designation (or in progress) and strong technical accounting skills.
• Ability to manage multiple activities and meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with Oracle and Essbase is a plus.
• Ability to build relationships within finance and communicate with senior management.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the financial accounting and reporting cycle for Telecom as part of Consolidated reporting packages.
• Prepare variance analysis on balance sheet and income statement monthly.
• Prepare regulatory and statutory reporting for Wireless and Cable.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly reconciliations and resolve issues timely.
• Assist external auditors with quarterly reviews and year-end audits.
• Coordinate with Tax, M&A, Legal and Regulatory on transactions.
• Support tax department with auditor requests.
• Ensure internal controls and SOX controls are effective.
• Provide ad hoc support as needed.

Reporting into the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting, the Senior Financial Analyst plays an important role in driving key stakeholder information within Rogers.

What you'll do:

• Assist with the financial accounting and financial reporting cycle for Telecom (Wireless, Residential and Rogers Business) as part of Consolidated reporting packages
• Prepare variance analysis on balance sheet and income statement on a monthly basis
• Preparation of regulatory and statutory reporting for Wireless and Cable
• Prepare monthly/quarterly account reconciliations and investigate/resolve issues in a timely manner
• Assist the external auditors with quarterly reviews and year-end audits, as necessary
• Liaise with Tax, Mergers and Acquisitions, Legal, and Regulatory to ensure acquisitions & divestitures / other transactions are accounted for accurately and on a timely basis
• Support tax department in responding to government tax auditor requests and queries
• Ensure all internal controls and SOX controls are effective and operational
• Provide assistance with ad hoc work as necessary

What you'll have:

• 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in an accounting or financial analysis environment
• Strong technical accounting skills with an accounting designation (CPA) or in progress
• Ability to independently manage and organize multiple work activities and inputs in order to meet or exceed established deadlines and priorities
• Strong attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Pre-existing knowledge of Oracle and Essbase would be an asset, with desire to become a super user for these tools over time
• Ability to build strong relationships within finance organization
• Strong interpersonal skills and ease with communicating with various levels in the organization (including senior management)
