Leon's Furniture in Toronto/North York is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Home Office team. You will prepare monthly financial reviews, develop reporting, and collaborate with accounting to improve efficiency and visibility of key metrics.

The ideal candidate holds a CPA, a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance, 3+ years in financial analysis (retail preferred), and strong SQL plus advanced Excel with Power BI or Tableau experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• CPA designation is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a financial analyst role, preferably in a retail environment.
• Strong programming skills (SQL required; Python, R) are assets.
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau).
• Collaborative, highly organized, able to meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent people skills, communication, judgment and leadership.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Prepare in-depth monthly review of business financial results, while also highlighting the performance of all key operational initiatives and business risks/opportunities.
• Leverage data to develop meaningful and innovative reporting that will deliver insights that enhance business decisions.
• Work closely with accounting to improve the overall efficiency of the finance organization as well as improve visibility and depth of understanding of all key financial metrics.
• Support the development and continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.
• Support annual financial planning process, quarterly and monthly financial forecasts, and ongoing analysis of actuals versus prior periods, plan and/or forecasts.
• Support the development of an LFL capital plan supported with business cases to ensure future investments are aligned with strategic priorities and are delivering strong returns.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with business leaders across LFL to identify their needs and seek a full range of business solutions.
• Manage and assist with various ad-hoc projects, as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• An accounting designation (CPA) is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a financial analyst role -preferably in a retail environment.
• Strong programming skills (SQL required; Python, R) is an asset.
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau).
• Possesses a collaborative work style, is flexible, highly organized to ensure tight timelines are met.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $80,000 to 90,000 annually; skill set and experience will be taken into consideration for total renumeration of role.
