Job summary

Bridgewater Bank is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to serve as the enterprise-wide expert in accounting, planning, and risk analysis. You will work across the organization to forecast, budget, analyze risks, and benchmark against competitors, delivering clear, actionable insights for executives and boards.

  • Post-secondary degree in Accounting or Business.
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, or CGA).
  • Minimum seven years of progressive experience in a finance or accounting role.
  • Solid accounting and finance expertise, including IFRS, tax, risk, disclosures, and financial systems.
  • Advanced Excel and VBA skills.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the enterprise-wide subject matter expert in designated areas, providing advice grounded in technical knowledge and business understanding.
  • Research, analyze, and evaluate ALM, credit risk, and interest rate risk to assess impact and prepare reports for senior management.
  • Analyze financial performance and products of competitors, translating findings into reporting and strategic recommendations for senior management.
  • Lead financial performance analysis versus budget, offering insights on variances and trends.
  • Own the monthly forecasting process and annual budget, continuously improving the forecast model.
  • Coordinate and execute finance, strategic, and operational projects across functions.
  • Translate strategy, regulatory changes, and business environment into actionable forecast updates.
  • Prepare analyses and recommendations for management and the Board.
  • Mentor and develop finance team members and internal customers, fostering a culture of continuous learning.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Serve as the enterprise-wide subject matter expert in your designated areas (which may include accounting issues, risk, products, IFRS, financial systems, and more), providing advice and recommendations that are grounded in both technical knowledge and business understanding.
  • Research, analyze, and evaluate ALM, credit risk, and interest rate risk to assess their impact on the organization. Interpreting guidelines, recommending courses of action, and preparing reports and recommendations for senior management.
  • Analyze, assess, and evaluate the financial performance and products of Bridgewater Bank’s competitors, translating findings into reporting and strategic recommendations for senior management.
  • Lead financial performance analysis versus budget, integrating technical knowledge and business context to provide meaningful recommendations on variances and trends.
  • Own the monthly forecasting process and the annual budget, including ongoing development and continuous improvement of the forecast model.
  • Coordinate and execute finance, strategic, and operational projects and initiatives across functional areas, ensuring work is appropriately scoped, resourced, and delivered.
  • Translate changes in strategy, guidelines, regulatory requirements, and the business environment into actionable business requirements and updates to the forecast model.
  • Prepare analysis, reporting, and recommendations that are relied on by management and the Board for key decision-making.
  • Mentor and develop other finance team members and internal customers in your areas of subject matter expertise, supporting a culture of continuous learning.
What You Bring to the Table
