This is a hybrid position, reporting directly to the Regional Controller. The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for the preparation, analysis, and review of complex financial data to be used in reports directed towards senior management. Additionally, this role will assist extensively with ad-hoc financial and operational analysis, requiring significant interaction with individuals across all areas of the organization.

Responsibilities
  1. Participate in various month-end and year-end activities, including the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and the analysis of schedules, statements, and reports for Senior Management.
  2. Prepare and analyze various monthly financial reports, including financial statements.
  3. Execute complex analyses of financial and/or statistical data and prepare related reports.
  4. Formulate financial models to assess the feasibility of business initiatives and perform post-mortem analyses to monitor returns.
  5. Track key performance metrics such as segment sales growth, margin contribution, inventory turns, and analyze results to identify opportunities for improvement.
  6. Identify financial process improvements and opportunities to strengthen operational and financial controls.
  7. Assist in the preparation of annual forecasts and budgets, and measure monthly results against these, explaining variances.
  8. Conduct profitability analysis on various lines of business to support operating management.
  9. Continuously evaluate current finance department processes for opportunities to improve efficiency.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related major.
  2. CPA designation or enrollment and nearing completion.
  3. Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines with accuracy.
  4. Expertise in business analysis and financial modeling.
  5. Experience in preparing complex financial reports and models.
  6. Proficiency in aggregating large data sets and presenting in a valuable format.
  7. Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships across divisions.
  8. Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, macros).
  9. Attention to detail and accuracy.
  10. Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  11. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in public accounting.
  12. Experience in warehousing & distribution industry and with Hyperion Financial Management software is an asset.
