Accounting, Reporting and Analysis
Accounting
Manage and own the full month-end, quarter-end and annual financial reporting activities for multiple legal entities (LE’s) within the Media Practice Area
Review monthly revenue accruals, staff cost and operating expense accruals for reasonability per Dentsu Global Policy, IFRS standards and using professional judgement
Manage the end-to-end intercompany process and resolve both domestic and foreign intercompany discrepancies on monthly basis
Review first pass reporting and workflows as prepared by Finance outsource team and identify any additional monthly accruals and journal entries required
Act as SME and point of contact for all accounting and IFRS related inquiries from the business teams and finance counterparts
Reporting
Responsible for providing final P&L’s and Balance Sheets with full ownership as per required deadlines for management review and approval
Monitor all reporting deliverables (monthly actuals, YE and QE supplementary packs) and ensure timely submission in line with deadlines
Provide support and collaborate with FP&A team in relation to budget, forecast and client reporting deliverables
Complete corporate reporting and statutory reporting requirements
Provide support to Assistant Controller on regional reporting queries
Analysis
Complete monthly account reconciliations and maintain healthy balance sheet risk levels in the LE’s. Actively lead the reduction of accrual aging through cross-pillar collaboration and escalate findings of risks and opportunities to Assistant Controller
Prepare monthly variance analysis, analytics and commentary on month-end financial results vs prior period actuals
Prepare daily cash positions and perform bank reconciliations for the LEs’ foreign and domestic bank accounts. Investigate and resolve all outstanding bank items as appropriate.
Support net working capital management by monitoring aging of AR, accrued income and WIP and collaborate with operational finance team to expedite billing and collections
Prepare sales tax returns and assist with government tax audits. Assist with internal/external financial audits
Participate in continuous improvement projects
Client & Internal Relationships
Collaborate in preparing and delivering work to colleagues in other Finance pillars, business directors and external clients
Respond to requests for information quickly and accurately
Engage with all work-related contacts in a professional and respectful manner
Establish strong internal relationships with agency personnel

Assess problems and concerns in a systematic, logical and rational manner
Foster an analytical mindset to challenge the status quo, and innovate efficient and effective process with management to improve the quality of financial reporting
Proactively resolve issues, know when to and to whom to escalate
Provide guidance to junior team members and nurture/promote team environment
Capable of managing multiple deliverables and ability to seamlessly transition among them
Develop a strong understanding of the Business Units activities under the scope of ownership
Communications Skills
Express oneself clearly and concisely in oral communications
Write in a clear, compelling and concise manner
Organize ideas and information logically and sequentially
Develop reports that are clear, compelling and persuasive
Qualifications
University Degree in business administration, finance or accounting
Big 4 accounting firm experience is a strong plus
3 years in a similar experience from Controllership
CPA certification or close to completion
Thorough understanding of the financial process and IFRS accounting standards
Knowledge of general accounting practices and principles
Thrive in a fast pace, constantly changing environment
Advanced Microsoft Office skills
Previous experience using MS Dynamics 365 and Blackline, is an asset
Additional information
The salary range for this position is$80k-$90k. Actual salary within thesalary range will be based on avariety of factors including relevantexperience, knowledge, and skills.A range of medical, dental, RRSP,paid time off, and/or other benefitsalso are available to all permanentemployees.
