Job summary

Finlink Group is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant on a 12-18 month contract in Alberta. You will lead monthly close, prepare financial reporting, and coordinate with external auditors. CPA designation is required, with ASPE knowledge and strong Excel skills.

This role offers a hands-on, collaborative environment in a mining/manufacturing-adjacent industry. The ideal candidate will be technically proficient, detail-oriented, and able to communicate clearly with finance and non-finance

Qualifications

• CPA designation (required).
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of ASPE.
• Experience with full-cycle accounting, including purchasing and billing.
• Excellent analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Effective communication and relationship-building skills across all levels of an organization.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to changing priorities.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite, including SharePoint.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online or similar accounting software is considered an asset.
• Experience in the mining or manufacturing industry is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the monthly close process, including preparing working papers, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and posting journal entries.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages for senior leadership and external stakeholders.
• Prepare and file regulatory returns, including GST/HST, WCB, royalties, and other required filings.
• Maintain customer and vendor records and related financial information.
• Support the year-end audit process and coordinate with external auditors.
• Contribute to finance initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
• Provide support across the finance department as needed.
