Job summary

Finlink Group is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant (Contract) to join the finance team for a 12-18 month engagement. The role focuses on timely and accurate monthly financial reporting, year-end activities, compliance, and cross-functional collaboration within a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will be CPA-designated with a Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance, 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, and strong ASPE expertise.

Qualifications

• CPA designation is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of ASPE (Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises).
• Experience with full-cycle accounting including purchasing and billing.
• Excellent analytical skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and time management skills; able to manage competing priorities.
• Effective communication across all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the monthly close process, including preparing working papers, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and posting journal entries.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages for senior leadership and external stakeholders.
• Prepare and file regulatory returns (GST/HST, WCB, royalties, etc.).
• Maintain customer and vendor records and related financial information.
• Support year-end audit process and coordinate with external auditors.
• Contribute to finance initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
• Provide support across the finance department as needed.

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established organization seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join their finance team on a 12-18 month contract. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives on delivering accurate financial reporting, improving processes, and partnering with teams across the business. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the timely and accurate completion of monthly financial reporting while supporting the broader finance team with year-end activities, compliance, and ongoing projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the monthly close process, including preparing working papers, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and posting journal entries

What We’re Looking For

• Experience with QuickBooks Online or similar accounting software is considered an asset
• Experience in the mining or manufacturing industry is considered an asset
