Job summary

Rapiscan Systems, Inc. in the Toronto region is seeking a Sr. Field Service Technician to ensure performance and customer satisfaction of inspection systems across Canada. The role requires extensive travel and independent work, supporting CVI and ACI product lines.

The ideal candidate will have strong diagnostic skills, experience with X-ray and radiation detection equipment, and the ability to mentor junior technicians while meeting service SLAs.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or above in Electronics or another technical related field highly desired.
• High School Diploma required.
• 6+ years’ experience in related field preferred.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints and schematics.
• Knowledge of X-ray imaging security systems a plus.
• Experience with cargo, vehicle, aviation, checkpoint, radiation detection, or security screening systems.
• Knowledge of high‑voltage, X‑ray producing equipment, networking, and industrial controls.
• Ability to travel throughout Canada and internationally when required.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Selected candidate is required to pass a security background check.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance, repair, installation and diagnosis of mobile x‑ray units to component level at various customer sites.
• Provides problem resolution and troubleshooting to customers.
• Installs equipment at customer's location. Repairs equipment as required.
• Acts as liaison between customer and company providing feedback regarding quality and customer satisfaction.
• Determines best method to resolve problems ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Provides customers with knowledge and training of proper usage of equipment.
• Must be able to complete paperwork such as service reports, radiation surveys, parts requisitions, expense reports, etc. on time and error‑free.
