Job summary

Shermco Canada is seeking an experienced Field Services Technician III, Electrical Testing to perform advanced electrical testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and commissioning on low-, medium-, and high-voltage systems. This field-based position requires independent work with limited supervision and the ability to interpret standards and procedures.

You will provide guidance to Technician I and II, collaborate with customers and project teams, and participate in emergency on-call rotations

Qualifications

• Diploma in electrical engineering technology or related field, with alternative combinations considered.
• 3–5 years progressive experience in testing, maintenance, commissioning or troubleshooting electrical power equipment.
• NETA Level II or III or equivalent credentials, or progression toward certification.
• Strong knowledge of testing procedures, equipment, and safety practices.
• Experience testing relays, transformers, switchgear, breakers and cables.
• Ability to read single-line diagrams and electrical schematics.
• Ability to work safely and independently with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced electrical testing, inspection, troubleshooting, start‑up and commissioning.
• Analyze test data, validate results and prepare technical reports.
• Assist with job planning, hazard assessments and field execution.
• Provide technical guidance and training to junior technicians.
• Collaborate with customers, supervisors and engineers to complete assignments safely.
