Job summary

Wainbee is seeking an experienced Industrial CNC Service Technician (Electrical / Mechanical) to join our field service team. You will install, commission, troubleshoot, and repair CNC equipment at customer facilities across North America, with travel through Southwestern Ontario, Quebec, and Michigan.

Strong electrical and mechanical skills, plus knowledge of FANUC, Mitsubishi Electric, and HEIDENHAIN controls, are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in CNC machine repair, machine tool service, industrial maintenance, automation equipment service, or manufacturing equipment installation.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting skills supported by mechanical knowledge, or strong mechanical expertise with advanced electrical troubleshooting.
• Experience with machining centers, turning centers, grinding machines, or similar CNC equipment.
• Proficiency using precision measuring instruments and diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Install CNC machine tools and related equipment at customer sites.
• Perform machine setup, alignment, leveling, calibration, and commissioning.
• Verify machine accuracy and performance according to technical specifications.
• Conduct acceptance testing and provide operator training as required.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and CNC control system issues.
• Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and perform preventative maintenance activities.
• Interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation.
• Troubleshoot servo systems, spindle drives, motors, encoders, sensors, PLC systems, and CNC controls.
• Perform machine geometry inspections and accuracy verification.
• Execute scheduled preventative maintenance programs.
• Complete detailed service reports and maintenance documentation.
• Recommend equipment improvements and corrective solutions to customers.
• Deliver professional on-site technical support to manufacturing clients.
• Clearly communicate technical issues and solutions to operators, supervisors, and maintenance teams.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships through exceptional service and professionalism.
