Job summary

Bruyer & Mackay LLP, a leading Alberta family law boutique based in Edmonton, seeks a full-time Associate Family Lawyer with 5+ years of experience. You will handle diverse family law matters, provide client representation, and oversee a Legal Assistant, while working from our Edmonton office with remote work options.

You must hold Alberta licensure, demonstrate strong research, drafting, and advocacy skills, and be adept at managing complex files from intake through resolution.

Qualifications

JD or LLB from a recognized university
Licensed to practice law in Alberta
Experience in family law required (5+ years)
Strong drafting, research and advocacy skills
Familiarity with Alberta Family Law Rules and related acts

Responsibilities

Oversee all family law files from intake to resolution.
Attend discovery, chambers, trials, and other court proceedings.
Facilitate mediation, settlements, and arbitrations as needed.
Draft court documents, pleadings, motions and affidavits.
Maintain client files and billable hours with accuracy.
Conduct client consultations and provide guidance on assets and liabilities.
