Our client, a major resource development organization, is seeking a Senior Expediting Specialist to support the execution of a large-scale underground mining project in British Columbia.
This position will play a key role in supporting procurement, supplier management, logistics coordination, and project execution activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of critical equipment, materials, and supplier documentation while working closely with procurement, engineering, quality, logistics, and construction teams to maintain project schedules and supply chain performance.
The role will focus on monitoring vendor progress, coordinating delivery schedules, identifying risks, and driving mitigation strategies to support successful project execution.
Hybrid position based in Vancouver, BC, with remote work options available within Canada.
Preference for candidates located in British Columbia or Alberta.
Quarterly visits to the Vancouver office may be required for remote employees.
Occasional travel to project sites may be required to support project execution activities.
Travel, accommodations, and related logistics will be provided when applicable.
Lead expediting activities for critical equipment, materials, and supplier documentation packages.
Monitor supplier performance throughout engineering, manufacturing, inspection, and delivery phases.
Track vendor progress against project schedules and contractual delivery requirements.
Proactively identify schedule risks, delays, and supply chain challenges, and develop mitigation plans.
Coordinate with procurement teams, vendors, suppliers, logistics providers, quality teams, and project stakeholders to ensure timely material delivery.
Support the development and execution of project expediting plans and priorities.
Review supplier schedules and identify potential impacts to project milestones.
Facilitate resolution of supplier performance issues and delivery constraints.
Coordinate vendor documentation requirements, including technical submittals, shipping documentation, packing lists, and release approvals.
Work closely with QA/QC teams to support inspection activities and timely resolution of quality-related issues.
Monitor supplier compliance with quality, packaging, preservation, and transportation requirements.
Coordinate material readiness and shipment activities in accordance with project schedules and contractual obligations.
Support logistics and transportation planning to ensure successful delivery to site.
Maintain accurate expediting records, reporting metrics, and progress updates.
Provide regular status reports identifying critical path items, risks, constraints, and recovery plans.
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to procurement, expediting, and supplier management processes.
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, Project Management, Business, or a related discipline.
Trade certification combined with significant expediting or procurement experience will also be considered.
Minimum 7+ years of experience in expediting, procurement, supply chain, logistics, or materials management roles.
Experience supporting large-scale mining, industrial, infrastructure, energy, or EPC/EPCM projects.
Strong understanding of supplier management, procurement processes, manufacturing, logistics, and quality coordination.
Experience monitoring vendor performance and managing delivery schedules.
Ability to interpret project schedules and identify risks impacting critical path activities.
Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.
Advanced organizational and planning abilities with strong attention to detail.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Experience with SAP, Ariba, Aconex, or similar ERP and project management systems is considered an asset.

Mining project experience.
Underground mining project experience.
Experience supporting procurement and expediting activities within EPC or EPCM project environments.
Professional certifications such as SCMP, CSCP, CPSM, or PMP.
Experience coordinating suppliers, fabricators, logistics providers, and inspection teams across multiple project packages.
Advanced reporting, forecasting, and performance monitoring experience.
