University of Calgary is seeking a Full-time Limited Term ERP Oracle DBA Specialist to support the PeopleSoft environment for approximately 24 months. The role covers Oracle databases, middleware, Linux, and related recovery capabilities, with periodic after-hours work for releases and incidents.

The incumbent collaborates with multiple teams including security, infrastructure, and vendors to ensure ERP service availability and resilience.

Qualifications

• Five years of progressively responsible related experience.
• Advanced practical experience administering Oracle databases (installations, upgrades, backups, security, performance) and patching.
• Experience with Linux and virtualized server environments.
• Ability to diagnose issues spanning database, middleware, OS, network, security, or applications.

Responsabilités

• Provide advanced coverage across PeopleSoft database and middleware services, resolve incidents, monitor performance, and coordinate with vendors and internal teams.
• Coordinate patching, vulnerability remediation, and change activities across environments.
• Execute backups, restores, and disaster-recovery exercises; validate runbooks and evidence.
• Support platform upgrades, migrations, and transition of designs for production stability.
• Develop/run books and automation to improve operational efficiency and reliability.
