As a Senior Environmental Scientist or Engineer, you will join our Calgary, AB office as part of the Assessment, Remediation, Reclamation, and Monitoring (ARRM) team. Your responsibilities will include:
Participating in and promoting Montrose’s safety culture
Leading or supporting site assessment, remediation, and monitoring projects of varying complexity
Overseeing projects with less than 25% field time
Ensuring effective communication and collaboration to deliver high-quality results tailored to client needs
Managing project timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communication
Preparing technical reports, proposals, work plans, and cost estimates
Contributing to team success and engaging in professional development
What Are We Looking For:
Technical diploma or degree in environmental science or related field
At least 8 years of consulting experience in site assessment, reclamation, remediation, and monitoring in Alberta or British Columbia
Eligibility for registration or good standing in a professional organization (e.g., AIA, ASET, APEGA)
Experience preparing technical reports, work plans, and cost estimates
Experience with borehole logging, sample collection, field screening, and sample selection
Strong data evaluation skills and decision-making ability
Self-motivated with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Willingness to mentor junior professionals
Valid, clean Class 5 driver’s license
Familiarity with field equipment and digital data collection tools
Experience operating pickup trucks (½ and ¾ ton)
Preference for those experienced with managing salt-impacted or hydrocarbon-impacted sites
