Egisgroup in Alberta seeks an Intermediate/Senior Environmental Planner to support transportation, bridge and municipal infrastructure projects across Alberta and Western Canada. The role can be based in Calgary or Edmonton and requires experience shaping planning, permitting, and construction with environmental requirements.

You will collaborate with engineering and environmental teams to identify constraints, coordinate studies, and guide projects from early planning through regulatory review

Formación

• B.Sc., B.A., M.Sc. or related degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Geography, Natural Resources, Planning, Biology, Ecology, Engineering, or related field.
• Approximately 7+ years of relevant environmental consulting, municipal, regulatory, industry, or related experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and deliver complex assignments.

Responsabilidades

• Identify and coordinate environmental assessment, permitting, and approval requirements for infrastructure, transportation, land development, and other projects.
• Develop environmental approval strategies and schedules, identifying regulatory requirements, information needs, seasonal dependencies, and risks.
• Prepare and coordinate environmental screening and assessments, municipal biophysical, natural environment, and EIA reports, permit applications, and regulatory submissions.
• Interpret and apply municipal, regional, and provincial environmental requirements for development.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary inputs from ecologists, hydrogeologists, engineers, and other disciplines as required.
• Review technical information to identify constraints, gaps, and permitting implications.
• Work with engineering teams to integrate environmental requirements, mitigation, and approval conditions into planning and design.
• Support environmental assessments and permitting for bridges, culverts, watercourses, roadways, and municipal infra, including regulatory approvals.
• Assist in transitioning approvals into detailed design and construction including Environmental Protection Plans and commitments.
• Independently deliver smaller/moderately complex assignments and contribute to proposals.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff supporting environmental assessment work.
