Job summary

Stantec’s Prairies and Territories Environmental Services group seeks an Intermediate Environmental Planner to support assessment, permitting, and lifecycle stages of projects. The role collaborates across discipline teams and manages environmental review for oil and gas, infrastructure, and energy sectors.

The position offers flexible and hybrid work options across Calgary, Edmonton, or Saskatoon, with Saskatoon preferred. Open to candidates across multiple western provinces.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in the Sciences, Environmental Studies or relevant Engineering field.
• A Master’s degree (or master’s degree in progress) is an asset.
• Holding or eligibility to obtain a relevant professional designation preferred but not necessary.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist with environmental impact assessment and permitting projects in western Canada.
• Collaborate with colleagues on pursuits and project delivery involving assessment and permitting.
• Provide regulatory knowledge and expertise across a variety of projects (oil and gas focus).
• Assist teams in preparing technical documents for regulatory applications.
• Lead proposals, pre-qualifications, and client relationship development.
• Coordinate with agencies regarding permits and approvals.
• Share knowledge to help develop junior staff and seek new clients.
• Adhere to health, safety, and quality management processes.
• Support multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.
