Job summary

Det’on Cho Environmental LP in Yellowknife seeks a Senior Environmental Manager to lead environmental services, oversee projects, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and support business development in northern economies.

The role collaborates with Indigenous governments and communities, balancing commercial success with environmental stewardship and strong workforce leadership across multiple projects to deliver high-impact outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Natural Resource Management, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in environmental services or related sectors.
• Experience managing complex operations and multi-site projects.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations in the Northwest Territories or northern Canada.
• Financial management and business development experience.
• Experience working with Indigenous governments or organizations is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the planning, coordination, and delivery of environmental projects and programs.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within scope, budget, and contractual requirements.
• Coordinate project schedules, staffing, equipment, contractors, and resources for successful delivery.
• Ensure environmental projects comply with legislation, permits, licences, contractual requirements, and procedures.
• Support proposals, scopes of work, budgets, and new business opportunities.
• Provide leadership, coaching, mentorship, and performance management to assigned employees and project teams.
• Support Indigenous employment, training, and career development initiatives.
• Provide operational and financial updates to the Managing Director.
