Job summary

TBT Engineering Limited is seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer to lead and contribute to multifaceted environmental engineering and natural sciences projects in Ottawa, Ontario. The role focuses on ESAs, remediation, monitoring, and regulatory compliance, with mentorship of junior staff and a focus on quality and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree in Environmental, Civil, Chemical, or Geological Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.).
• 10+ years of relevant experience in environmental assessment, remediation or compliance.
• Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and field investigation methods.

Responsibilities

• Manage ESAs (Phase I/II), remediation design and implementation, and monitoring programs.
• Oversee field investigations and sampling for soil, groundwater, surface water and aggregates.
• Prepare and review technical reports, data summaries, proposals and regulatory submissions.
• Lead environmental compliance and permitting with municipal, provincial and federal agencies.
• Provide direction and mentorship to junior and intermediate team members.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, regulators and stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Contribute to business development through proposals, scope definition and client relations.
• Ensure adherence to environmental standards, regulations and corporate quality and safety systems.
