About the Role

This position supports the development and management of processes ensuring high-quality enterprise data and collaborates with various teams to meet organizational needs. The Senior Enterprise Data Specialist will develop data processes, maintain knowledge of enterprise data systems, and seek solutions to complex problems independently.

What You’ll Do

• Maintain knowledge of enterprise processes and technologies, providing solutions and guidance.
• Assist in defining requirements and representing PATH in interactions with clients.

Data Engineering: Support development of data warehousing and governance systems, identify shortcomings, design solutions, evaluate datasets, and document data models.

• Work with management to improve data sourcing, loading, storage, and delivery.
• Implement solutions independently and perform testing.
• Contribute to strategic data architecture and governance processes.

Business Analysis: Collaborate with business units to address data gaps, create specifications, and support new initiatives, building strong relationships across the organization.

• Understand enterprise functions like HR, Finance, and IT.
• Support data sourcing, storage, and processing solutions aligned with enterprise systems.

Database Administration: Support data systems maintenance and feature development, act as a point of contact for vendor engagements, and create design specifications.

• Develop expertise in OPTrust’s data model.
• Resolve operational issues and support data management processes.

What You Bring

• Post-secondary education in a related field or demonstrated experience in data engineering/architecture.
• 8+ years of industry experience, with 5+ in financial services or pensions preferred.
• Strong communication, SQL expertise, and knowledge of database administration.
• Experience with data integration, data quality tools, and programming languages like Python, SSIS, or Informatica.
• Experience with data migration, APIs, BI tools (Power BI preferred), and data modeling.
• Client-oriented mindset, ability to manage multiple projects, and excellent communication skills.
