Location: This position is remote and can be anywhere in Canada.

Role Description

As a Data Consultant, you’ll be both internal and external-facing, working closely with prospective customers, our sales team, customer success, and Klir's IT and product teams. You’ll play a crucial role in our pre-sales process by helping utilities:

• Identify where their key data lives
• Assess the readiness of that data for migration
• Recommend how to best structure and import it into Klir

You will act as the data conduit across stakeholders, ensuring the path to onboarding is clear and the customer's data needs are understood early. Your work will be key in delivering seamless onboarding experiences and accelerating customer time-to-value.

Responsibilities

• Engage with prospective customers during the pre-sales cycle to assess their current data landscape ;
• Identify data systems, formats, gaps, and challenges;
• Evaluate data readiness and define a clear path for migration to Klir by creating comprehensive data maps;
• Translate technical data insights into clear, actionable plans for internal and external stakeholders;
• Identify and document data quality issues and gaps;
• Collaborate with sales, CS, and IT to develop tailored onboarding strategies;
• Build trust with utility teams by simplifying complexity and offering solutions;
• Travel as needed to support discovery sessions or workshops with clients.

Requirements (Sound like you?)

• 3+ years of experience in data consulting, data analysis, or technical onboarding
• Strong communication and facilitation skills—you know how to talk to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to synthesize and simplify complex information
• Positive, solution-oriented mindset and a self-starter attitude
• Comfort working in ambiguity with an eagerness to learn and adapt
• Experience working with utility, government, or enterprise data (a plus)
• Exposure to generative AI tools (e.g., OpenAI, Bedrock, Claude) and their implications for structured/unstructured data usage.
• Familiarity with cloud tools (Azure, SQL, ETL processes, Excel, etc.)
