Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to lead the design and delivery of transportation infrastructure. You'll work on bridges, culverts and retaining walls, coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure safe, sustainable outcomes.

Applicants should have a Civil Engineering degree and P.Eng. licence in BC, 10+ years in bridge design, and strong leadership to guide project teams and client relationships across Canada. Proficiency in CAN/CSA-S6 and CSIBridge/MIDAS is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on bridge structures.
  • Eligible for Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licence in British Columbia.
  • 10+ years of experience in detailed bridge design and project management.
  • Proven ability to support transportation and bridge projects in various jurisdictions across Canada and working within geographically dispersed project teams.
  • Advanced knowledge of CAN/CSA-S6 design codes and standards.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software such as CSIBridge and MIDAS.
  • Expertise in planning, design, and construction of bridges with standard and complex geometry.
  • Strong leadership capabilities to guide teams and manage client relationships effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs for bridges, culverts, and retaining walls.
  • Lead inspections, assessments, and rehabilitation strategies for existing structures.
  • Provide project coordination and management for standard and major bridge projects.
  • Prepare specifications, tender documents, and cost estimates that guide successful delivery.
  • Review shop drawings and provide technical support during construction phases.
  • Mentor and inspire technical teams to achieve excellence in project delivery.
  • Build strong client relationships and contribute to proposal development for future projects.

Compensation

BC, AB, SK, NWT & NT: $114,600 – $151,800
MB & ON: $104,500 – $143,900
Atlantic Provinces & QC: $103,500 – $137,400
