SENIOR ENGAGEMENT ADVISOR

Location: Horseshoe Bay

2-year term with possibility of extension

BC Ferries acknowledges with respect the enduring ancestral connection of coastal First Nations to their lands and waters.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Engagement Advisor to join our External Engagement team. You will develop and implement engagement strategies for communities, partners, governments, and groups to support capital projects at Horseshoe Bay, aligned with our 'Let’s Connect' strategy.

You will lead project feedback groups, and prepare various materials including engagement plans, reports, newsletters, presentations, and website content.

The Role

Reporting to the Manager, Community Relations, your responsibilities include:

1. Drafting and developing engagement strategies for company-wide and external initiatives;
2. Managing multiple projects, collaborating with internal teams and external groups;
3. Producing high-quality engagement materials independently;
4. Responding to community and stakeholder requests;
5. Identifying engagement opportunities and representing BC Ferries publicly.

What You Bring To The Team

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, public affairs, community engagement, or related field.
• 4-6 years experience in public relations, external engagement, or communications roles with high public visibility.
• Experience in drafting engagement materials, coordinating activities, and facilitating group discussions.
• Proven ability to create and deliver impactful engagement strategies aligned with business goals.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of IAP2 foundations and facilitation skills are preferred.

Additional Information

Salary range: $81,100 - $101,300 per annum, based on experience and internal equity.
