Job summary

Lumentum in Ottawa, ON is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, and optimize embedded software for world‑class networks and systems. This onsite role focuses on driving hardware bring‑up and software integration across the product lifecycle.

You will contribute to the architecture, implement robust solutions, and lead development efforts with a strong emphasis on performance and maintainability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in embedded environments.
• Expert-level proficiency in C++ with modern best practices.
• Experience in embedded architecture and system design.
• Hands-on experience building, deploying, and optimizing Docker containers and Debian/Linux packages.

• Proven experience in embedded architecture and system design
• Hands-on experience building, deploying, and optimizing Docker containers and Debian/Linux packages

Asset/Nice to Have

• Experience with SONiC (Software for Open Networking in the Cloud)
• Demonstrated success in software bring-up on new or custom hardware platforms
• System and product-level experience in a technical lead capacity
• Contributing to open-source projects

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $110,625 - $149,675 CAD (Flexible). Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, and qualifications. In line with our commitment to being a great place to work, Lumentum offers competitive total rewards which may include annual bonus, equity, and comprehensive health and welfare benefits.
