Job summary

One Silicon Chip Photonics (OSCP) is hiring engineers to move IMU-related products from R&D to production in Montréal. You will own subsystems, develop low-level firmware and software alongside hardware teams, and help bring boards from lab prototypes to full-scale production.

We value self-motivation, collaboration, and curiosity as we build photonic navigation tech for demanding applications in GNSS-denied environments. Montréal-based, venture-backed, ITAR-free.

Qualifications

• Ship products or code that others depend on.
• Degree or technical diploma in engineering, physics, or related field, or the portfolio that makes it irrelevant.
• Strong C/C++ and/or Python, weighted by area.
• 2+ years hands-on experience shipping real products; senior candidates welcome in photonics and optics.
• Comfortable owning open-ended problems in a small team.

Responsibilities

• Own a slice of the product end to end: a subsystem, a codebase, or a process.
• Take designs from prototype to production as we scale.
• Test, measure, and iterate on real hardware in the lab.
• Support customer integrations: your work ends up on drones, robots, vehicles, and vessels.
• Work shoulder to shoulder with a small team of hardware, firmware, and test engineers.
• Document so the team can scale: designs, drivers, and procedures.
