Job summary

Myticas Consulting in Ottawa is seeking a Staff Embedded Software/Firmware Engineer to design, develop, and test mission-critical firmware for advanced embedded optical systems on a one-year contract. You will work with RTOS/embedded Linux, review requirements, and apply OO design and C++ expertise to deliver robust, scalable software.

The role requires at least 8 years in embedded systems design, plus strong Python scripting, troubleshooting skills, and experience with Git/Jira.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering with embedded software experience.
• Minimum 8 years of embedded systems design and development.
• Excellent object-oriented design and expert C++ programming skills.
• Deep understanding of multithreaded software systems and OS concepts.
• Knowledge of at least one scripting language; Python preferred.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with Git and Jira.
