Job summary

Safe Fleet in Vancouver, BC, is seeking an Electronics Engineer to lead the design and development of telematics and sensing products from concept through production. You will be the technical expert for PCB design and layout, drive hardware architecture and verification, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams and external partners to bring new devices to market.

This role requires hands‑on debugging, field issue resolution, and a passion for safety in fleet

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • 5+ years hardware design experience with demonstrable products.
  • Experience with RF - BLE, Wi‑Fi and Cellular protocols.
  • Experience with Altium software preferred.
  • Hands-on lab and debugging experience.
  • Passport and ability to travel to Canada required.

Responsibilities

  • Design telematics and sensing devices, moving prototypes to production.
  • Be the team's expert on PCB layout; set standards and mentor others.
  • Oversee hardware development with ODM partners and verify compliance against specs.
  • Write and review product requirements and design to performance and regulatory specs.
  • Create PCBA drawings and BOMs with Mechanical Engineering.
  • Write and execute DVP&R, review results, and close corrective actions.
  • Provide technical design support to cross‑functional teams.
